Vitreo Minerals Ltd. (Vitreo) is pleased to announce the achievement of a significant milestone for its 100% owned Angus Project with the delivery of its Initial Application to the BC Environmental Assessment Office (EAO) on Friday, March 7, 2025. The submission to the EAO is a key step in obtaining the Environmental Assessment Certificate for the proposed large-scale, high-quality silica sand (proppant) Angus Project located 60km north of Prince George, British Columbia.
The Angus Project will support the growing demand for high-quality proppant used in natural gas well completions in the Montney basin, an essential component to delivering BC’s natural gas to LNG markets in Asia. By creating a reliable, local and high-quality source of BC proppants, the Angus Project will reduce the reliance on imported proppant from the United States, while also reducing transportation-related emissions and diversifying northern BC’s economy.
Vitreo recognizes that the Angus Project lies within the Treaty 8 territories of McLeod Lake Indian Band and West Moberly First Nations and in proximity to Lheidli T’enneh First Nation. Vitreo remains deeply committed to working closely collaboratively with First Nations, including to identify opportunities for participation in the Angus Project. Vitreo is focused on developing the Angus Project with a local workforce, local businesses and local services using best available technologies and practices.
Vitreo would like to thank Stantec Consulting for their assistance in developing the Initial Application.
Vitreo is a private, BC-based mining and minerals company.
