Vitreo Minerals Ltd. is proposing a new open-pit silica sand mine located approximately 10 km east of Bear Lake. The project would supply silica sand for use in natural gas production.
The Environmental Assessment Office (EAO) is inviting the public to review and comment on Vitreo Minerals Ltd.’s application for an environmental assessment certificate. This application details the project’s design, operations, potential environmental effects, and proposed mitigation measures.
